This purpose is to share perspective on business interruption preparations prior to the COVID-19 pandemic impact and subsequent changes. Previous research demonstrated that organizations were not previously prepared for the duration or magnitude of the pandemic, yet there has been an evolution of business practices as the pandemic begun to subside. Organizations provided employees with safe working environments and protocols for safe operations which varied by operation. Additionally, given the past 18 months of experience operating in the pandemic-riddled environment, organizations have become more astute in the protocols for business continuity in the face of such significant interruption.
