Historically, Virginia has had few wage-and-hour laws, but that has completely changed in the last three years. The Commonwealth has enacted all manner of new employee-friendly laws, including provisions concerning the state’s minimum wage, untimely/unpaid wages, and overtime. While overlooked by many, these changes have significantly altered the legal landscape for employers and present substantial liabilities for the unwary. This presentation will discuss these new wage-and-hour laws and what your organization should be doing to address this legal revolution.
