Tenise Edwards is an HR Consultant with a breadth of experience totaling 12 years in the areas of employee relations, talent management, HR systems, policy development, compliance, leaves administration, workplace accommodations, and learning & development. In her roles, she has led organizational-wide programs and initiatives such as the performance management process, the employee engagement initiative, the COVID policy compliance operations, and the workplace respect & safety training program.

Tenise also serves as National Co-Chair of a team member resource group for Black and African-American employees and volunteers at a leading non-profit organization. In this role, she serves as an instrumental leader of a steering committee of more than 20 leaders that supports the general body of nearly 800 members in prioritizing wellness, creating pathways to opportunities, and embracing their authentic identities. Her drive to provide more development and advancement opportunities for Black and African-American employees and volunteers has fostered her leadership in building and implementing several professional development opportunities addressing the unique needs of resource group members. This includes the successful launch of the organization’s first-ever mentoring circle program, in October 2020, which connects mentees with Black executive mentors.

Tenise’s passion for making connections and implementing new ideas has served her well throughout her career, empowering her to lean in on her strong partnerships to serve her colleagues and clients in an equitable manner. Tenise is a certified HR Professional (SHRM-CP), a True Colors facilitator, and an Inclusive Leadership Compass coach. A change advocate and naturally optimistic, she subscribes to the glass half-full mentality.

Tenise is a native of Washington DC and holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Drexel University.
